Gold Dips On French Election Outcome

Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Monday after the outcome of the first round of France’s presidential election eased fears of an outcome that could threaten the country’s membership in the euro and the European Union.

At the MCX, gold futures for June 2017 contract ended at Rs 29384 per 10 grams, up by 0.30 per cent, after opening at Rs 29,273 against a previous close of Rs 29,295. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 29,447.
